Quarantine day 8 million nine hundred thousand bagillion and two:
I got a sunburn yesterday, so it’s officially summer and spring is basically canceled anyway so I hope y’all don’t mind, but I thought I’d share a gorgeous— no, freakin’ lush—Lancaster country wedding at Stolzfus Homestead and Gardens to combat my cabin fever.
I’m a complete sucker for high school sweetheart stories. Oh my gosh. Teenage love stories always give me the biggest crushes. Give me a high school drama show (sup, OTH fans?!) and I am on board with it even after all of my favorite characters’ contracts and storylines have run dry. There is something about teenage love that is truly incredible. You can’t recreate it. It’s wild, on fire, and also totally innocent at the same time. To love someone as a teenager means you love them unconditionally and without reservation— there are no expectations. High school sweethearts are the epitome of true love. Change my freakin’ mind.
What makes this couple even sweeter is that they went to my high school. And right from their initial inquiry, I was practically doing cartwheels. From our Kennett Square engagement session all the way through their sunset portraits, I captured what I think may be the truest, most candid gallery I’ve ever taken.
Geena’s attention to detail and her soft vibe brought all the things I love about summer weddings literally to the table. Deep greens, rustic atmospheres, candle light, vintage glass— my. goodness. gracious. Paired with those things was their family’s eccentric and earthy flair.
Special shoutout to Stoltzfus Homestead and Gardens for treating this couple like family on this busy, beautiful day. Scroll down to see Geena’s black diamond engagement ring, a DJ you can text requests to, and just about the best dance floor in wedding history (decked out in multiple bowties).
Wash your hands and be well, babes!
